Oh teenagers. Why are they always pushing our buttons? When they're home, there's drama. And when they're out of the house, there's even more drama--and mischief. No wonder parents are flummoxed over the best way to react to their teen's shenanigans.
What is a dad to do when his teenage daughter is on vacation and he finds a bottle of whiskey in her room? Make a viral video, of course.
Twitter user @glovelacee, or Elainey, who, according to her account, is from Universal City, a suburb sitting just northeast of San Antonio, posted a video on June 22 that has since gone viral — with more than 20,000 likes and 9,000 retweets — of her dad.
When the daughter was away on the Texas coast on vacation and he found her hidden contraband, he didn't freak out. Instead, he recorded this video that she promptly tweeted out. "Hey girl," said the San Antonio father. "Hope you're having a great time at the coast, I know South Padre's beautiful."
He then holds up an empty bottle of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and tells his daughter he would like to talk to her about "this" when she gets home. He said the bottle was found in Elainey's sock drawer.
"We heard a news report of people breaking into houses and hiding whiskey bottles," he says. "So, if that's the case, we need to contact the police. But if you've got another explanation, maybe you can explain it to us when you get home."
He ends the video with a quick, "Love you girl, bye."
In Elainey's tweet she says "soooooo my parents found this bottle I was hiding in my room and this happened......"
So, way to go dad, you won the internet's heart.
