With it on my hand, my first impression is that it has the right size, being neither heavy nor light. The only shortcoming is that, the body exterior just uses soft plastic in the switch, while the rest are using hard plastic which certainly has less non-slip effect than the soft plastic. Fortunately, the ergonomic body structure is well done, which allows the shaver to be held better so as to make up the shortcoming brought by hard plastic.

(Tip: As hard plastic has very small friction, so do not put the shaver on the furniture with slant and smooth surface. In the testing process, the shaver was put on the tilted chair; as a result, the shaver slipped onto the couch. It was lucky that the shaver did not fall to the ground.)

The one with three raised and curved lines, is a switch, made of soft plastic material. Push it up, and the shaver will be switched on. A LED indicator is next to it below, displaying green light when the shaver is fully charged.

Philips norelco shaver 6948xl also provides a trimmer, being able to accurately clean beard and sideburns. Above the back there is a switch; push it up, and the trimmer will pop up. Pay attention to the mark of Non-washable at the bottom, which shows the shaver can be used only in a dry environment. It is not waterproof, so do not rinse the shaver.
